How the estimating time savings calculator works
Enter how many projects you estimate each month, the hours spent per project, the value of an hour, and the reduction you want to explore. Use time logs from recent comparable projects for your starting point.
Hours saved = projects per month × estimating hours per project × assumed reduction ÷ 100. Multiply the result by your hourly cost to estimate the value of that time.
A hypothetical example
Four projects × eight hours = 32 estimating hours per month. An assumed 25% reduction would save eight hours. At $75 per hour, that time is valued at $600 per month.
The example and initial inputs are planning assumptions, not measured Struvia performance. The time value is not extra revenue or cash savings unless the freed time changes billable work or actual costs. This calculation excludes software fees, training, setup and review time; include those separately in a purchasing decision.
Try a conservative scenario as well as your target. Then measure a comparable project from plan review through takeoff, pricing and final checking. Include the time spent correcting errors before deciding whether the workflow saves time.
Common questions
Is the default 25% reduction a Struvia performance claim?
No. It is an editable hypothetical assumption. Use your own measured result or test several possible reductions, including zero.
Do I need an email to see my results?
No. The calculator shows your results on this page. Email is only needed if you want the breakdown sent to you; the newsletter is a separate optional choice.
Does the dollar result include software costs?
No. It represents hours saved multiplied by the hourly value you entered. Subtract software, setup, training and other costs separately; time value alone is not a return-on-investment calculation.
